Store of Stories Hurt Heal and Hope

27 to 29 January 2012

There’s an old saying that goes-
“A problem shared is a problem halved.”

It means that if you let someone know about your problem, it can be much easier to deal with. If you have experienced hurt in your past, healed from it and can even say that you live in hope, then y...ou may want to contribute to a campaign called Hurt, Heal and Hope. Women’s Refuge is holding this campaign alongside the Parachute Music Festival which is being held from January 27 – 29, 2012.

Women’s Refuge is the national charity of choice for Parachute and at our tent, over the three day festival, each hour we will read your stories of Hurt, Heal and Hope.We would love anyone but particularly young people up to 30 years of age, to send us your stories (up to 1000 words), video diaries, or drawings/photos of what Hurt, Heal and Hope means for you. We need you to send your story to us no later than Sunday January 22 please.

We will begin sharing your stories from our youth website , 'your space' page from mid January 2012.
At Parachute we will read stories on the hour and show drawings and videos from our tent. We hope your real time experience will inspire other young people who visit our website and those who visit our tent at the Parachute festival. We do need to fill our Store of Stories with your stories, so whether you are going to Parachute or not, can you please send your story, video or art of Hurt, Heal and Hope to stories@refuge.org.nz?

Note: We may need to edit stories and for those we will ask for your written permission.

If you have a problem that you need help for, phone us anytime on 0800 REFUGE or 0800 733 843 cause it does help to share your problem, or go to our youth website link below and read the stories of other people who’ve been abused. They’ve been helped, and want you to know there’s hope for you, too!
